About Us

With more than 20 years experience building products for forensic crime labs and law enforcement agencies, Mideo Systems is uniquely positioned to provide solutions for forensic image/asset management, documentation and comparative analysis needs.

It all started when Los Angeles County required that drug evidence  could no longer be brought into court.  Los Angeles Sheriff's Department asked Mideo to provide a solution that would capture, store and print images of drug evidence as necessary to take to court.

Mideo also designed mobile, desktop and wall mounted ergonomic systems including microscopes, cameras, articulated arms, computers and accessories for criminalist to do that image acquisition.

These systems evolved into more sophisticated and versatile solutions adding comparison and measurement tools as well as a secure database for managing those evidence images.

As requirements changed, Mideo has been there, working alongside Labs and Law Enforcement Agencies to meet ISO, SWGIT, SWGFAST, and ASCLD standards.  We moved from local, single station installations to enterprise level solutions which were designed to make it as easy as possible for the end user to communicate visual information to others through the use of annotated images in reports, presentation displays, or secure internal web pages.

Most recently Mideo announced its newest offerings, a Latent Print Workflow engine and the Latent Training Module (see products page).

Mideo provides complete support for all systems, giving you the convenience of having only one vendor to call with any technical issues.  Mideo has successfully installed and initiated workflow solutions in many large labs. The results have been positive, saving time and enhancing capabilities of the lab. Mideo suggests custom hardware/software configurations and trains all users for best practices given their particular needs.  Mideo has developed an integrated, enterprise system with LASD – the largest Sheriff's department in the world. This system is the result of years of research and careful dialog with forensic professionals.
