CASEWORKS is the new flagship product of Mideo’s forensic software suite built for the latent print examiner for acquisition, secure management, documentation, analysis, communication and reporting.

Install CASEWORKS on a standalone system or in a multi-site multi-departmental environment.

Mideo Systems collaborated with several large agencies to develop a flexible and secure solution for latent workflow. CASEWORKS steps users through solid ACE-V methodology and supports accredited documentation, optimization and analysis standards.  Due to evolving regulations and increased scrutiny brought on by the recent NAS report, physical side-by-side comparison techniques are increasingly unable to meet refined comparison, documentation and annotation standards. Using CASEWORKS, operators digitally ingest evidence into the database and workspace where they perform side-by-side comparisons in a secure, non-destructive and feature-rich environment. Examiners can easily annotate, calibrate and optimize images never risking loss or damage to the original.

CASEWORKS  features a database and an image workspace to securely facilitate  the collection and optimization of images as well as AFIS/LIMS submission. CASEWORKS offers multiple camera controls and TWAIN scanner interfaces, making it easy to acquire high resolution latent print images.

CASEWORKS provides latent-specific optimization filters as well as comparison and annotation tools. Users can view images side by side, zoom in on an area, apply filters, create overlays, size 1:1, save and print the results. All this in only a quarter of the time it would take with other popular applications not designed specifically for latent examiners.

CASEWORKS also offers pre-defined field sets and reports, automating the most time-consuming tasks of a latent examiner.  The administrative tools assists the supervisor in managing a consistent and effective workflow.

TRAINING MODULE

Mideo has teamed up with experts from several of the largest and most experienced agencies to create a digital training module within CASEWORKS software.

For the examiner, it offers:
     Basic latent ID
     On-screen comparison techniques
     Calibration
     Summary and Final Reports
     Submission to AFIS

For the supervisor it offers::

     Electronic testing
     Test Randomizing
     Auto Grading
     Checks test for errors
     Messaging/Notification
Notifies instructor when student completes tests
Notifies student if instructor has kicked back a test due to errors
     Assessment
     Analytics
         Quantifies trainee test results
         How many errors were made
Overall summary of trainee test results
Testing analytics( e.g. are there any test items that cause consistent problems)

CASEWORKS contains a library of 10-print cards and lift cards in a secure database,
maintaining privacy and security throughout the training process. Grading is automated
for ease of competency assessment.
